Hi, I’m Tahir — an experienced educator specialising in one-on-one tutoring in Maths, Chemistry, and Science.
I created My Tutor to provide a more personalised and effective learning experience, where students receive focused support tailored to their individual needs. I work directly with each student, taking the time to understand their goals, strengths, and areas for improvement, and designing structured lessons that support their progress step by step. I work primarily with high school and university students, with a strong focus on Year 10, WACE, ATAR preparation (including Methods and Specialist), and selected first-year university subjects. My approach is both exam-focused and concept-driven. I help students build a deeper understanding of key topics, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop the confidence needed to perform under exam conditions — rather than relying on memorisation alone. All tutoring is delivered one-on-one by me, ensuring consistency, quality, and a strong working relationship. Lessons are flexible and conducted online, allowing students to learn in a focused, comfortable environment. My goal is to help students build confidence, master difficult concepts, and achieve the results they’re capable of. |
I hold a BSc (First Class Honours) in Environmental Science from the University of Nottingham, a Post Graduate Diploma in Hydrogeology from the University of Birmingham, and a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Health from the University of Queensland.
Before moving fully into education, I worked as a hydrogeologist in the mining and engineering sector in Western Australia and later as an Environmental Health Practitioner in local government. Alongside this, I have taught and tutored across a range of settings in both the UK and Australia, including secondary and university-level education. This experience allows me to support students at different stages of their academic journey. |
