About Me - Tahir Nagji
Hi, I’m Tahir Nagji, the tutor behind My Tutor.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science (First Class Honours) from the University of Nottingham, a Postgraduate Diploma in Hydrogeology from the University of Birmingham, and a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Health from the University of Queensland.
Before moving into education, I worked as a hydrogeologist within an engineering consultancy in the mining industry in Western Australia, and later as an Environmental Health Practitioner in local government in Perth.
I bring over 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience across a range of settings, including secondary schools, university teaching, and educational centres. This experience allows me to support students at different stages, from high school through to university, with a strong understanding of the WA curriculum and ATAR requirements.
My tutoring is one-on-one, highly personalised, and focused on both exam success and genuine understanding. I aim to help students develop strong problem-solving skills, build confidence, and apply what they learn beyond simply memorising content.
All lessons are taught directly by me. I work closely with each student to understand their goals, challenges, and learning style, and tailor sessions accordingly. Whether preparing for WACE exams, improving subject understanding, or building confidence, my focus is always on providing clear, structured, and supportive guidance.
